More Draka Cables Approved by London Underground
Following the recent announcement that several of the company’s cable designs have been approved by London Underground, Draka today confirmed that its Saffire steel-wire-armoured range of power cables has also received London Underground’s full approval. It has been added to the list of the company’s cables satisfying – and in many cases, exceeding – the safety requirements of Section 12 (underground) areas, as set out in London Underground’s LU 1-085. Draka's App is Industry First
With the current trend towards using smartphones both in offices and on construction sites, cable manufacturer, Draka, has become the first company in the cables industry to embrace the technology and make cable information accessible as an iPhone application, available on the iTunes App Store. Congratulations Derby. Environmental Success - A Step Closer To Full Integration
On completion of a successful project, Draka UK Ltd has been awarded certification to ISO 14001 standard for Environmental Management. The awarding body, SGS, carried out a three-stage assessment process including: Initial Assessment; Document Review; and Final Audit, prior to recommending the site for registration to the internationally-recognised environmental standard. Draka Given Top Marks by Britain's First Academy
Following an appraisal of the leading cable suppliers, top marks went to Draka, and the company’s cabling has been installed throughout the new JCB-sponsored Academy – Britain’s first academy designed to develop the engineers and business leaders of the future – that officially opened its doors in September to 540 budding engineers aged between 14 and 19.
